Notably, Vietnam has two projects that have garnered international attention: Cu-li never cries (directed by Pham Ngoc Lan) and In The Yellow Cocoon Shell (directed by Pham Thien An).
Danang Asian Film Festival was founded by Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan and is overseen by the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, along with the Vietnam Film Development Promotion Association (VFDA) and in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Da Nang City Sports. This event, which runs from July 2 to 6, aims to serve as Asia’s Bridge by showcasing both domestic and international film projects.
Last year, Ha Le Diem’s documentary Children of the Mist won Best Asian Film. The House of No Man and Tran Thanh won the Best Vietnamese Film and Best Director categories, respectively. The Brilliant Darkness (directed by Aaron Toronto) received multiple awards, taking home four trophies.
