The Soul Reaper

Synopsis

A normal wedding of a young girl in the Hell Village, an infamous village no one comes in or out of, getting disturbed by a creepy-looking stranger soon turns into tragedies, as she and all the villagers gradually get devastated by a series of brutal murders that are connected to an ancient black magic practice and the village’s dark past.

Director’s biography

Director Tran Huu Tan was born in 1983, emerging as a familiar name to those who love Vietnamese horror films. He likes to use folklore or urban legends to create films that evoke terror in the audience. His first film –Home Sweet Home – was selected to participate in the 2019 Busan International Film Festival (Korea), in the program of A Window on Asian Cinema  (for outstanding films by Asian directors). His next works include the movie Survive (2021), Vietnamese Horror Stories (2022), the series Hellbound Village (2023) and Soul Reaper (2023).
