Synopsis

Linh is the reluctant wife of a district governor, from a poor farmer family.Since she could not fulfill her obligation to give birth to a heir, she was pressured by the older wives in the family. The chance meeting of her and Nhan – her childhood lover – led to many unexpected events that completely changed her life.

Director’s biography

Victor Vu was born in 1975 in the US and graduated from Loyola Marymount University. He is a Vietnamese-American film director, screenwriter and producer. He directed many feature films and is best known for the Dreamy Eyes, Vengeful Heart, Battle of the BridesandBlood Letter. The romantic drama Dreamy Eyes and the coming-of-age film Yellow Flowers on the Green Grasswereofficially selected torepresent Vietnamese films for the Academy Awards.

His films like Dreamy Eyes, Vengeful Heart, Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass are all among the highest-grossing films in Vietnamese cinema history. With continuous box office wins and critical success, he is considered one of Vietnam’s leadingfilmmakers.
