Mai

Synopsis

Mai, a massuese in a spa, is a single mom with beautiful appearance and turbulent past. Carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, taking care of her daughter Binh Minh and suffereing a father with gambling addiction, Mai loses faith in love and no more finds happiness for her own. Everything changes after Dương – a handsome and rich man, apprears and determines to conquer Mai. Despite what nosy neighbors say, they still enjoy love, but somehow their relationship still encounters rough weather. Will they be together after going through trails and tribulations?

Director’s biography

Tran Thanh was born in 1987, graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema. He is known as a versatile and talented artist with ability toperform drama – comedy and host shows. In 2021, he co-directed Dad, I’m sorryandwon Best Actor for himself at the Kite Awards of the Vietnam Cinema Association. The movie won Golden Kiteand Best Cinematography at the Kite Awards in 2020 and Silver Lotus at the 22^ndVietnam Film Festival.

In 2022, he directed The House of No Manand received Best Director and Best Vietnamese Movie at the Danang Asian Film Festival in 2023, Best Director and Best Movie at the Green Star Awards. Mai is his latest movie.
