Synopsis

The story takes place in 1994, at that time the Cai Luong (a form of modern folk opera) troupes was well received by the audience. Thanh – a 10-year-old boy who worked as a fisherman on the river, despite the danger, held the ancestral altar and was then adopted by the troupe manager. Kieu Truc Linh, a 9 year old girl, is the daughter of the famous singer Kieu Truc Le. To save her child, Truc Le sacrificed herself. Ten years later, the Cai Luong troupehas now become a variety one. Although everyone has made efforts, they still face sparce audiences and limited income. However, the love for professionand the romances among youths are still emphasized in each individual. Typical examples are the beautiful, pure love between Thanh and Linh and the deep love between Phi Khanh and Kim Yen, but in the end they had to separate after many efforts.
