Crimson Snout

Synopsis

Nam, accompanied by his pregnant girlfriend Xuan, returns to his hometown for his father’s funeral, where family tensions and dark secrets surface. Strange occurrences plague them, linked to their family’s past involvement in a dog slaughterhouse. Supernatural events escalate as Nam discovers a demonic presence connected to a white dog with a red nose. Family members meet grim fates as the village becomes consumed by rumors and fear. Amidst revelations of past betrayals and atrocities, Nam confronts his uncle Quyet, who becomes possessed by a malevolent force. In a climactic battle, Nam sacrifices himself to save his loved ones, bringing an end to the horror. The family closes the slaughterhouse and leaves, seeking a fresh start elsewhere.

Director’s biography

Director Luu Thanh Luan, born in 1989, is a talented young filmmaker of Vietnamese cinema. With more than 5 years of experience in film editing and 3 years as a Post Producer at ST. Digital – one of the leading Post-Production units in Vietnam, Luan has contributed to the success of many projects. The highlights include Tri Am the movie: The Time Keeper and Hustler vs. Scammer. In 2023, the biggest opportunity in his career came when he was assigned the responsibility of directing his first movie titled Crimson Snout.
