Le Khanh is a recognized actress in Vietnamese cinema. She is a rare case who was specially awarded the title of Eminent Artist by the State in 1993 and became the youngest People’s Artist in Vietnamese history in 2001 at the age of 38.
Entering the artistic career at the age of 8 (in 1970), up to now, she has performed in many theater and film projects, and is one of the longtime actresses who always receives affection and respect from the audience.
Her career is associated with hundreds of diverse theatrical roles, from classic to the most modern, from tattered beggars to many classic leading roles, and many successful film charactes. Some of her classic roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Dexdemona in Otenlo, Ly Chieu Hoang in Bamboo Forest or Khanh in The Vertical Ray of the Sun directed by Tran Anh Hung.
In addition to being a cinema actress and theatrical artist, Le Khanh is also a stage director. She has directed plays such as “Osin’s House”, “Behind, there’s the sky”, “Paradise is 3km away”… or the folk comedy “Ngheu, So, Oc, Hen”.
After 40 years of non-stop creation, in addition to her acting and directing career, People’s Artist Le Khanh is currently dedicated to teaching, searching and training new generations of artists for Vietnamese cinema.
