Lorna Tee is a Malaysian film producer, programmer and curator. She has worked with Focus Films (Hong Kong), Variety (USA), Irresistible Films (Hong Kong/ Japan), and also film festivals such as Asian Film Awards, Berlinale, CinemAsia Film Festival and others. She was the co-founder and Head of Festival Management for the International Film Festival & Awards Macao. She is producing with her Malaysian production company Paperheart, and with Amsterdam-based company, An Original Picture, primarily focusing on film and television productions for an international audience.
She mentors and lectures with film training programs/labs, primarily with emerging filmmakers, plus supports various international film institutions and film funds in multiple capacities. She is currently the curator/ director of an incubation development lab for emerging filmmakers in Asia, <mylab> and the international acquisitions and co productions consultant for Barunson E&A (South Korea) – the company behind Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite. In addition, she is the Secretary General for the Asian Film Alliance Network (AFAN).
She has been invited to moderate hundreds of film events and ceremonies over the years in International Film Festival Rotterdam, Berlinale, Hong Kong FilMart, Cannes, Shanghai Film Festival, Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Busan Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, QCinema, Golden Horse Film Festival, Yogyakarta Asian Film Festival and Singapore International Film Festival.
