As usual, in the last print issue of the calendar year, the Sports and Culture newspaper (VNA) organizes a vote and announces 10 outstanding domestic cultural events and issues taking place that year. The following are the voting results for 2023.

“The first Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2023 (Da Nang Asian Film Festival – DANAFF I) with the theme “DANAFF – Bridging Asia” took place in May 2023 with nearly 800 delegates and guests attend; 46 films from 18 countries and territories, of which 20 films were selected to compete in two competition categories: Asian Films and Vietnamese Films.
This is a completely new film festival, held annually according to international standards, in addition to the Hanoi International Film Festival (every two years), and is also the first film festival organized by a locality in collaboration with a professional association. Organized according to the provisions of the Cinema Law 2022, to select and honor excellent cinematographic works, encourage new talents of Vietnamese and regional cinema… The festival has the participation of a large number of international artists: famous Korean actress Moon So-ri; Kazakhstan director and screenwriter Adilkhan Yerzhanov; Korean director Jang Joon-Hwan; NETPAC Co-Chair Bina Paul…
The most important award of the festival, The Best Asian Film, was given to the film Children in the Mist by director Ha Le Diem, bringing hope for a breakthrough in the near future for the Vietnamese youth filmmakers.”
