Now in its third edition, the Da Nang Asia Film Festival (DANAFF) continues its mission to discover and nurture talented filmmakers in Vietnam. For the first time, DANAFF is excited to introduce a dedicated workshop and project market exclusively for Vietnamese filmmakers working on genre projects. This initiative aims to help Vietnamese genre films gradually reach international standards through guidance from international mentors and jurors. It will take place during DANAFF in the beautiful coastal city of Da Nang, Vietnam.
This program is organized in collaboration with Autumn Meeting as an extension of its renowned Entertainment Film World Pitching Project section.
A selection committee composed of industry professionals will choose 5–7 projects to participate in the workshop and project market.
Submission Requirements
- Fiction project, minimum 70 minutes.
- Applicants must submit following documents:
- Logline (max 800 words)
- Synopsis (max 2000 words)
- Director statement (one page)
- Treatment (8-10 pages)
- Producer statement (one page)
- Detailed budget, detailed financial plan
- Production timeline
- Link of Director’s previous work (shorts or feature).
- Biography and CV of production company, producer & director.
- Any relevant visuals or materials that showcase the project’s vision.
- A completed screenplay is available when required.
- Documentary, Animation is not acceptable.
Deadline
- Submissions opens from now and closes by 15th April 2025.
- Selected projects will be notified by the festival by 10th May 2025
Regulations
- Submissions must be in English.
- DANAFF will cover round-trip airfare and accommodation for the director and one member of the production team (e.g., producer, screenwriter…) of each selected project to attend the DANAFF Workshop & Project Market, which will take place from June 29 to July 5, 2025, in Da Nang, Viet Nam. (The ticket is eligible for flights to or from Vietnam, subject to the condition that the flight operates within Vietnamese territory).
- Participants of selected projects will undergo 4 days of workshop with experienced experts & mentor.
- Participants will pitch the project in English in front of professional jury, best project will receive a cash award from DANAFF
- By submitting a project, filmmakers grant DANAFF and Autumn Meeting the right to include the project materials during the festival and for promotional purposes.
- Film-maker applicants must have the necessary rights for applying & must take responsible the projects do not infringe upon any copyrights or intellectual property rights.
