The press conference was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, President of the Vietnam Film Development Association, co-Chairperson of the DANAFF IV Organizing Committee, and Festival Director; and Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Chairperson of the DANAFF IV Organizing Committee.
Speaking at the press conference, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi stated that over its three previous editions, DANAFF has gradually asserted its position as a prestigious cultural and cinematic event with a distinct identity, becoming a highly anticipated gathering for filmmakers in the region. This success demonstrates that the need for connection, dialogue, and cooperation through cinema is growing stronger in the context of globalization and the development of creative industries.

The choice of the theme “Bridging Asia to the World” for DANAFF IV not only reflects the growth of the festival but also demonstrates a new vision. From DANAFF IV onwards, the diverse voices of Asian cinema will be more widely introduced; the unique cultural values of nations will be propagated, and new opportunities for cooperation will open up among filmmakers, artists, and film industries worldwide.
For Da Nang City, hosting DANAFF IV holds significant importance. It is an event that contributes to realizing the development path of building Da Nang into a regional center for culture, tourism, events, and creative industries. Through cinema, the city aims to promote the image of a dynamic, modern, friendly, and culturally rich Da Nang, a city that not only possesses beautiful natural landscapes and hospitable people but also carries a strong aspiration to thrive through culture, creativity, and international integration.
“With that spirit, DANAFF IV will continue to build upon the successes of previous festivals, while aiming for higher professional quality, more professional organization, and a wider reach. We hope this will be an occasion for the public to access exceptional cinematic works, and for Vietnamese filmmakers to have more opportunities to exchange with Asian and world cinema, opening up new possibilities for cooperation in film production, distribution, destination promotion, and the development of film tourism,” Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed.
DANAFF IV will take place continuously for 7 days, from June 28 to July 4. However, the advanced screenplay writing course, Script Lab, will kick off earlier on June 26.
The Opening and Closing & Award Ceremonies will be held at the Ariyana Convention Centre Da Nang and will be broadcast live on VTV and several live-stream relay platforms.
This year, there are 13 films from various countries and territories participating in the Asian In-Competition Film category. Among them, Vietnam has one entry and another co-produced with the United States.
Within the framework of the festival, numerous films will be screened at cinema complexes including Le Do, CGV Da Nang, and Galaxy Da Nang. Additionally, outdoor screenings will be held at the APEC Park Danang, the Da Nang Cultural and Cinematic Center, the Hoa Khanh Administrative Center Square, Tam Thanh Beach, and the Hoai River Square (Hoi An).
In parallel with film screenings and interactions with artists and film crews, the festival will continue its professional activities with three seminars discussing topics of public interest: “The Face of Vietnamese Cinema during the Doi Moi Era”, “Digital Technology, A.I., and intellectual property rights protection in filmmaking," and a specialized seminar titled “The U.S. film industry - successful production models and their application in Vietnam.”
