Synopsis

Toan and Nga fill in job application forms, go to interviews but fail to get jobs. Dinh talks about the working conditions in international corporations in Vietnam and voices her demands. Tran Phuong Thao films Toan and Nga during these long days of waiting while they encourage and comfort each other. They talk about their hopes and disappointments, the lack of money and even love.

Dirertor’s Biography:

Graduated from Foreign Trade University, Director Tran Phuong Thao (born 1977) studied documentary film at Poitiers University, France. Phuong Thao made her debut film Worker’s Dream in 2006 and was recognized at numerous international film festivals. In 2011, together with four other young filmmakers, Thao founded Varan Vietnam,where creative camps for young filmmakers are still regularly organized. Tran Phuong Thao’s works include: Worker’s Dream (2006, Pierre and Yolande Perrault scholarship at the Cinéma du Réel Film Festival in 2007) or Finding Phong (2015, Nanook Grand Prix award at the Jean Rouch Film Festival in 2015).
