Synopsis

The Mothertell the story of Ms. Dep, a woman who sent her mixed-race child to America during the Babylift campaign and has not been married for 44 years, desperately searching for her child.

The film narrates her journey, one of vigilantly searching for her child, and in the process recreates a special historical moment, specifically the last days of April 1975 in Saigon, with the message of motherhood, kindness and love

Dirertor’s Biography

Documentary director Doan Hong Le is currently working at the Vietnam Television Center in the Central Region, running the Varan workshop project in Da Nang since 2010. Her films focus on issues of war and post-war. Her works include Father’s Last Words, Whom The Land Belongs To, The Mother, Remember You Are Alive, So Close Yet So Far From the Forest of Our Ancestors…
