Synopsis
Ca tru, recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, represents a unique form of poetry and chamber singing deeply
rooted in Vietnamese culture. Having undergone thousand years of ups and downs, Ca tru is in need of urgent safeguarding. Through
the film, the history of Ca tru art through the dynasties will be displayed in terms of the time when it has come into existence and how
it has developed and declined?
Director’s biography
People’s Artist Viet Huong was born in 1964, she graduated with a master’s degree in Cinema and Television from the Hanoi Academy
of Theater and Cinema and graduated from the Department of Traditional Musical Instruments at the Hanoi Academy of Music. During her
artistic career, she received many prestigious awards in the documentary and musical film genres. These include the Golden Kite Award in
2009 for the film Dawn of New Music, the Silver Lotus Award for The Suicide Writer at the 1999 Vietnam National Film Festival,
and the Golden Award for the musical film Passion at the 2016 National Television Festival.
