Synopsis:
At the age of eight, Yuan and her mother moved from Hunan to Hong Kong to be with her father. Unfortunately, once in Hong Kong, they encountered poverty and struggled with language barriers. In addition, Yuan’s father, who was a drug addict with an unpredictable temper, frequently landed in prison, leaving the family for extended periods. Out of fear, the Yuan sisters initially triedto please him during their early years, but as teenagers, they started to rebel and distance themselves from him.
