The story of a family produced by Kore-eda Hirokazu has taken a path of transition and expansion. In Broker, he explores the possibilities of an alternative family. Single mother Soyoung (Lee Ji Eun) leaves her baby, Woosung, in a baby box, where Sanghyun (Song Kang Ho) and Dongsoo (Gang Dong Won) steal the baby to sell to a couple who wants to have a baby. When Soyoung comes back to reclaim her baby the next day, things spin out of control. Eventually Soyoung agrees to help find good parents for Woosung, and she and the brokers go on a journey together. Detective Sujin (Bae Doona), assigned to an investigation into child selling, follows the group. Broker explores the possibilities of forming an alternative family between Soyoung, Woosung, Sanghyun, and Dongsoo.
