Set in Singapore in 1994, Ah Girl follows a seven-year-old girl of the same name who lives with her father, younger sister, and grandmother following her parents' divorce. Her weekend visits with her mother slowly expose the quiet fractures and underlying trauma within her family. When her mother proposes that Ah Girl move in with her, the young girl's fragile childhood world begins to unravel. Observed through the innocent yet sensitive eyes of a child, the film charts solitude, family breakdown, and the longing for affection with a delicate, gentle pacing that leaves a poignant, lasting echo.
