Riverstone follows three police officers assigned to escort a prisoner back to the remote village of Riverstone in the mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Yet behind what appears to be a routine mission lies a secret order: the suspect must be eliminated before the journey comes to an end. Amid the bleak landscape and an atmosphere of mounting tension, the film gradually unfolds into an intense moral confrontation between duty, conscience, and violence. With its restrained pacing and haunting sense of place, Riverstone explores the ethical limits of human beings when pushed to the edge under extreme circumstances.
