Quan is devastated by the sudden death of his wife, An, in a tragic accident. His shattered world seems miraculously restored when An’s spirit appears to return in the body of Bao Ngoc, the sole survivor of the same accident. Torn between disbelief and hope, Quan gradually embraces this mysterious presence as a final chance to hold on to the woman he has lost. But when a horrifying secret behind An’s death begins to emerge, he is forced to make an impossible choice: cling to the fragile shell of happiness, or confront the terrifying truth hidden within.
Dinh Tuan Vu (born in 1989) graduated in Film Directing from the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. In 2015, Yen's Life earned him the Golden Kite Award for Best Director, the Silver Lotus Award at the 19th Vietnam Film Festival, and the Grand Festival Prize at the First International Film Festival in the Philippines in 2016. His subsequent works include Taxi, What's Your Name? (2016), Until You (2017), Please Don't Marry My Mom! (2018), and The Legend of Quan Tien (2019), the latter receiving the Silver Lotus Award at the 21st Vietnam Film Festival. With The Hermit Crab (2026), Dinh Tuan Vu continues to explore themes of human psychology and emotion through intimate and character-driven storytelling.
